Walk the Distance is a community-driven charity initiative dedicated to ensuring that every child has safe and reliable access to education. In many parts of the Coastal Region, students walk between 7 and 15 kilometers every day just to reach school and return home. These long and unsafe journeys have contributed to serious social challenges, including increased school dropouts, teenage pregnancies, drug abuse, child marriages, and the loss of educational opportunities for many young people—especially girls. This charity walk is a call for collective action, bringing together individuals, organizations, and the wider community to raise funds for the provision of public school buses and sustainable transport solutions for students in underserved areas. By participating in Walk the Distance 2026, you become part of a movement that is transforming lives through education, safety, and opportunity. Every step taken contributes to building a future where no child has to risk their education or well-being because of the distance they travel to school. Our Vision To create communities where every student has access to safe, reliable, and efficient transportation to school, promoting quality education, healthy development, and sustainable community growth. Our Mission To eliminate the barriers caused by long walking distances by mobilizing communities, raising awareness, fostering partnerships, and providing sustainable transportation solutions that ensure every student can travel to school safely, confidently, and with dignity.
